Dear Modern Companion Community,

Unfortunately, Hurricane Helene has caused significant damage in Chapin, SC, leaving both our store and homes without power since early Friday morning. Like many local businesses, we've faced challenges as essential services, grocery stores, and gas stations have also been affected. Businesses have had to discard food, cancel appointments, and experience a loss of sales. I can only imagine the further setbacks our community we'll face as we all work to return to normal.

I am incredibly thankful that none of our employees or friends' homes were significantly damaged during the storm. Please also keep our friends in Upstate SC, including our seamstress in Greenville who is also still without power, and those in Western NC, in your thoughts—they were hit even harder than we were.

We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to the first responders and linemen who have been working tirelessly to restore power and keep our community safe during this difficult time. Their efforts do not go unnoticed, and we are truly thankful for their dedication.

Our retail store regained power this morning, but my home is still without power. I’m aiming to be in the store on Monday to pack and ship orders, and we’ll hopefully resume regular store hours then as well. If you placed an order from Wednesday through today, I sincerely apologize for the delay. I will do my best to ship all orders on Monday and throughout the week though please keep in mind that our post office might also be experiencing delays.

I’m working hard to respond to your emails and messages, so I appreciate your patience as I get back to everyone. This storm has had a major impact on both my business and our local community, and I truly appreciate your understanding during this time.

If you’re able to, it would mean the world to me if you could support us by shopping online during this difficult time. Your support helps keep our business going, especially during moments like these.

Thank you so much for your understanding and continued support.
